The pair is befriended by a mysterious attorney who knows about the box and its contents, but is hesitant to share the details. Why is he so secretive? Review: I would like to thank William Burnette for giving me the chance to experience this book. At the start of the book I was unsure about whether I would end up enjoying this book but after a few chapters I was hooked on this book and just could not bring myself to stop reading. This book is worth all the time that is spent on reading it as it is a truly tremendous novel. I really loved this story line even though it sounded unusual and I did not think that it would make sense. This book will remain a part of my book collection forever. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading Sci-Fi books. This book is definitely worth a chance as I am sure other readers will be as pleasantly surprised by this as I was.

Book Review | Carole P. Roman | If You Were Me And Lived In ... Egypt

If You Were Me and Lived in...Egypt

I received this book for free from the author. This book was sent to me through Bostick Communications. The author sent me this book in exchange for an honest review. I have previously reviewed two books by this author and they can be found on my blog.

Author: Carole P. Roman
Title: If You Were Me And Lived In ... Egypt
Genre: Children, Educational, Geographical, Fiction

Synopsis: Join Carole P. Roman when she visits the stunning and exciting land of Egypt in the newest book of her informative series. Learn why this ancient land is often called "the cradle of civilization". Travel down the Nile to discover Egypt's fascinating history. See the land through the eyes of a youngster like you and understand what life is like in this exotic place.

Review: I would like to thank the author for the chance to read another of her amazing children's educational books. This book is the latest in the culture around the world series. This is a good way for children to learn about Egypt as it is packed with facts and pronunciation but in a fun and effective way. Simply relaying facts to a child can make them bored and then they will not learn anything. Stories that make learning and facts fun is the best way to teach children as they will not feel like they are experiencing facts and will not get bored. This book will be staying among my collection so that when the time comes for me to have children I can read this book to and/or with them. I would like to teach my future children that learning can be fun and that the world is an interesting place to read about. I will make sure that I have all of Carole P. Roman's children books so that I can read to my child and they will develop a love of reading (hopefully). I would recommend this book to parents or anyone who likes to read to the children in their family's.

Book Review | Carole P. Roman | Being A Captain Is Hard Work

Being a Captain is Hard Work: A Captain No Beard Story: Volume 10

I received this book for free from the author. This book was sent to me through Bostick Communications. The author sent me this book in exchange for an honest review. I have previously reviewed another children's book by this author which can also be found on my blog.

Author: Carole P. Roman
Title: Being A Captain Is Hard Work
Genre: Fiction, Children, Action, Adventure, Educational

Synopsis: Captain No Beard is determined to travel to Dew Rite Volcano. He won't listen when Mongo predicts a storm or when Linus indicates they are headed in the wrong direction. He insists Polly cook in the galley even though the seas are getting rough. What's a crew to do with a stubborn know-it-all captain?

Will they convince the captain he is barrelling headlong into danger, or will Captain No Beard jeopardize both his safety and the crew's with his single-minded determination to go where he wants?

Review: I would like to thank the author for sending me a copy of this book. This is a children's book but, being a child at heart, I really enjoyed reading this book and the message that the story portrays. This book will be staying in my book collection for when the time comes that I have children of my own. When I do have a child this will be one of the books that I read to them even before they are born. This book teaches about friends and always listening to what you are being told as it may be important and helpful information. Children will take away from this story that they do not know everything and are not right all the time. They will also learn that it is important to listen to and respect the opinion of others. Through a story is the perfect way to teach life lessons to children as they will take it as just a fun adventure story but will be learning about the meaning behind the story without getting bored of being taught things. I would recommend this book to any mums out there who enjoy reading to their children or to anyone who knows children (brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews) and enjoys reading to them.

The plot thickens when a bloody street war forces KD to retreat to Africa in hiding. The Genesis is the beginning of the tale of an inseparable group of young and reckless men and their journey through the treacherous terrain better known as the streets.

Review: This literally is amazing and I cannot wait to have the other two books so I can finish the story and have the full trilogy in my collection. I was lost in this book from the minute I opened it up and started reading. There is so much going on in this book and that makes the storyline so interesting. I will definitely be investing in the rest of the trilogy and even the rest of his books. Towards the end of the book, the storyline got deep and interesting. This book ends on a major cliff hanger. I really wish that I had the rest of the trilogy so that I could continue to read the story. Honestly, I nearly cried at the cliff hanger as I was not ready or prepared for the book to end. I would recommend this book to any reader as it is pure perfection and I felt like I was a part of the book and not just reading it.

Except, Lacy Dawn, the eleven year old protagonist, perches precariously between the psychosis of childhood and the multiple neuroses of adolescence, buffeted by powerful gusts of budding sexuality and infused with a yearning to escape the grim and brutal life of a rural appalachian existence. In this world, daddy is a drunk with severe PTSD, and mommy is an insecure wraith. The boss is a dodgy lecher, not above leering at the flat chest of an eleven year old girl. Yes, all in one book. It is a children's story for adults with a happy ever after ending.

During a visit to his Grandfather's house, Wen learns that he can influence what will happen tomorrow by going back in time. Will Wen be able to save the Mona Lisa or will Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece be lost forever?

Review: This was a good read and I would definitely be interested in completing this book box set once they are all published.  This is a fun and factual way to teach children about history and art. This book is made up of a very short story so children will not have to sit for ages to hear/read the whole story. The length of the story and the fact that there are illustrations is a good thing as it means that children will not get bored. Mixing fact with fiction will make the book more interesting for children. This is a good way to teach children facts without it feeling like a lesson.

Book Review | Albina Hume | Miss Fortune

Miss Fortune

Author: Albina Hume
Title: Miss Fortune
Genre: Women, Health/Family/Lifestyle, Conservation

Synopsis: "Who would think that my inability to pronounce the letter R would turn my life upside down and lead me from Ukraine to South Africa?"
Albina Hume is often asked the same question - how did she meet her South African husband John, a property developer and a rhino breeder, who is 36 years her senior? She has always kept her response simple. Until now...
Her childhood fear that no one in Ukraine would want to marry a 'crow' at first resulted in various misfortunes, from failing dreams and relationships to even ending up in a police cell for 51 days, until she finally learned to focus on her dreams, not her fears. Now, Albina and John Hume have dedicated their lives to preventing the South African rhino population from becoming extinct by breeding rhinos for future generations.
In the past six years, they have bred over 500 white rhinos, with Albina emerging as a pro-rhino activist, advocating for an end to the war on trade in rhino horn that has only resulted in illegal trade and killing of rhinos and also people in Africa. Albina calls for legalising trade in horn - a renewable product - to help create harmony between African people and their natural heritage.

Review: This is an excellent read and I found it really easy to get into. This book is about the life of a woman and the good times and the bad. This story is also about the choices she made for her future. I found it hard to stop reading this book and would recommend it to pretty much anyone who loves to settle down and get lost in a book.
