Review:
I would like to thank Carole P. Roman for sending me a copy of this book along with another of her educational books, If You Were Me And Lived In ... Poland (the review can be found on my blog). After I read this book I gave it to my neighbour for her young son. This book is really interesting and educational for young children. In my opinion all young children should have access to Carole P. Roman's educational books within their own home. This book contains lots of information about Europe in the time of vikings. These books are an easy and interesting way for children to learn about other places around the world and other periods in time. These books are a good starting point for children who are just getting into reading. I would recommend these books to anyone who has or works with young children.

Book Review | Carole P. Roman | If You Were Me And Lived In ... Egypt

If You Were Me and Lived in...Egypt

I received this book for free from the author. This book was sent to me through Bostick Communications. The author sent me this book in exchange for an honest review. I have previously reviewed two books by this author and they can be found on my blog.

Author: Carole P. Roman
Title: If You Were Me And Lived In ... Egypt
Genre: Children, Educational, Geographical, Fiction

Synopsis: Join Carole P. Roman when she visits the stunning and exciting land of Egypt in the newest book of her informative series. Learn why this ancient land is often called "the cradle of civilization". Travel down the Nile to discover Egypt's fascinating history. See the land through the eyes of a youngster like you and understand what life is like in this exotic place.

Review: I would like to thank the author for the chance to read another of her amazing children's educational books. This book is the latest in the culture around the world series. This is a good way for children to learn about Egypt as it is packed with facts and pronunciation but in a fun and effective way. Simply relaying facts to a child can make them bored and then they will not learn anything. Stories that make learning and facts fun is the best way to teach children as they will not feel like they are experiencing facts and will not get bored. This book will be staying among my collection so that when the time comes for me to have children I can read this book to and/or with them. I would like to teach my future children that learning can be fun and that the world is an interesting place to read about. I will make sure that I have all of Carole P. Roman's children books so that I can read to my child and they will develop a love of reading (hopefully). I would recommend this book to parents or anyone who likes to read to the children in their family's.

Book Review | Carole P. Roman | Being A Captain Is Hard Work

Being a Captain is Hard Work: A Captain No Beard Story: Volume 10

I received this book for free from the author. This book was sent to me through Bostick Communications. The author sent me this book in exchange for an honest review. I have previously reviewed another children's book by this author which can also be found on my blog.

Author: Carole P. Roman
Title: Being A Captain Is Hard Work
Genre: Fiction, Children, Action, Adventure, Educational

Synopsis: Captain No Beard is determined to travel to Dew Rite Volcano. He won't listen when Mongo predicts a storm or when Linus indicates they are headed in the wrong direction. He insists Polly cook in the galley even though the seas are getting rough. What's a crew to do with a stubborn know-it-all captain?

Will they convince the captain he is barrelling headlong into danger, or will Captain No Beard jeopardize both his safety and the crew's with his single-minded determination to go where he wants?

Review: I would like to thank the author for sending me a copy of this book. This is a children's book but, being a child at heart, I really enjoyed reading this book and the message that the story portrays. This book will be staying in my book collection for when the time comes that I have children of my own. When I do have a child this will be one of the books that I read to them even before they are born. This book teaches about friends and always listening to what you are being told as it may be important and helpful information. Children will take away from this story that they do not know everything and are not right all the time. They will also learn that it is important to listen to and respect the opinion of others. Through a story is the perfect way to teach life lessons to children as they will take it as just a fun adventure story but will be learning about the meaning behind the story without getting bored of being taught things. I would recommend this book to any mums out there who enjoy reading to their children or to anyone who knows children (brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews) and enjoys reading to them.
