Review: This is an absolutely amazing book and I was lost in the story straight from the first page. I was so lost in the pages of this book that I just could not bring myself to put it down and stop reading. I had read this book constantly since I picked it up and was saddened by the realization that I had finished it and in such a short space of time. I can see myself settling down with this book again in the near future and for many more years to come. This book will be a permanent part of my extensive book collection. This book shows that with hard work, determination and faith, good will always win. This was such a brilliant story line and it was really easy to follow and keep up with. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading but who especially enjoys fantasy and/or the paranormal. This book would be an asset to any book collection, be it a small or large one.

Review: This is an excellent read that I found myself lost in. I could not bring myself to put this book down so I spent days with my head in this book. I will be re-reading this book many times over for many years to come. I like how the story line switches between the past and the present with ease. This book has an interesting story line that follows a family and a curse on their family name through many generations. This story shows how making bad or good choices can have an impact on life. This story brings the living and the dead into close proximity and then at the end the dead and the living actually meet. The meeting of the dead and the living brings and end to the curse and the long dead went off into the afterlife.

Title: Higher Places: The Spirituality Found Through Our Dogs
Genre: Pets, Dogs, General

Synopsis: Higher Places is an inspirational account of how the dogs in our lives move us to be better beings - how our lives are elevated by the honor of loving a dog. This book is also an account of how God's grace resides within everything in life as he teaches us all sorts of wonderful life lessons through our canine friends. There is an intentional purpose in our dogs lives beyond the simple joys we experience by spending time with them. If we are open to receiving God's grace, we can feel closer to God in the presence of these furry companions.
You don't have to to be a "dog person" to be delighted by this loving, humorous tribute to God's creations, but those who are blessed by the love of a good dog will be especially moved to smile, shed a tear, and feel their heart ascend to higher places.

Review: This is an excellent book that gives me an amazing insight about dogs. This book teaches about the love that dogs have towards their owners and how they can help their owners through many situations in life, be that a good or bad situation. Through reading this book I have learnt a lot about my relationship with my dog and it makes me realize all the times that my dog has helped me throughout my life and how important my dog (and my cat) is to me. When my dog moves on to the other side I will have a huge hole in my heart and I will be at a great loss in life without my one true friend by my side. My appreciation for my dog has been fully renewed by reading this book; I am so glad that I took the time to read this book as I believe it has brought me even closer to my dog than I already was. I am going to take more time out of my day to show my dog how much I truly love him and how he is a huge part of my life. To anyone who has a dog I would definitely recommend reading this book as it will make you have a better understanding of a dogs love for their owner and will renew your appreciation for your dog and make you show your dog how much they truly mean to you.

Bats and Bones (Paperback)
Bats and Bones (audiobook)

NOTE: THIS BOOK IS A TWO PART SET. IT IS MEANT TO BE READ WHILST LISTENING TO THE AUDIO BOOK.
NOTE: I RECEIVED THIS BOOK FREE FOR REVIEW.

Author: Jeffrey Hickey
Title: Bats And Bones
Genre: Middle Grade, Ghost Stories

Synopsis: Bats And Bones is the second work for children from IPPY award winning author, Jeffrey Hickey. This collection of spooky stories is for middle school children and above. It dramatically, poignantly, and at times, comically explores the notion of death within the presence of life. This work is meant to be read whilst listening to the audio book where the author performs all the voices himself, backed by music he composed and recorded.

Review: I found this book really easy to get into and I had it finished within two hours of starting this book. These stories are short and would be good for children who struggle to sit through longer stories or read longer stories. I would read these stories over and over again. I really enjoyed settling down with this book and just could not put it down. This book will be in my collection for many years to come and will be passed down with the rest of my collection when I am no longer on this earthly plain. I will read these stories to my children and grandchildren, etc, etc and hopefully they will do the same for the future generations. This book should be in every book collection for young (and old) children as it is an excellent read that children will love. It is also a good way to teach them about parts of life that they may not understand.
